In de neus donker fruit (zwarte bessen), vermengd met tabak en milde florale tonen. De inzet is vitaal en wordt gedomineerd door fruit (zwarte kersen, blauwe bessen). In de mondontwikkeling licht rokerige tonen (bacon) en groene tonen (thee, rijpe paprika). De milde tannine maken de wijn plezierig om nu te drinken; de vitaliteit maakt het dat de fles gemakkelijk opgaat. 2016 Heeft een goede balans tussen volheid en frisheid, zonder overdadige houtsensatie. Een volwaardige Saint-Joseph, voor een aantrekkelijke prijs. [november 2019]
John Livingston/drinkrhone.com: “The nose gives an air of soaked black berry fruits, a note of damp tea leaves, mulberry red berry also discernible. The palate gives a grapey, strawberry, fleshy run with dark, smoky tannins swiftly in evidence. The aftertaste is rocky, compressed, a mite demanding. Allow until 2019 so it can get together, and release more juice to cover the tannic outcrops and the knuckled finish. It’s a punchy style of Saint-Joseph, no holds barred, a trifle exerted.” [November 2017]

Sappy and focused on the palate, offering lively, spice-tinged black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that turn sweeter through the midpalate. Finishes quite long, with lingering sweetness, very good clarity and gentle tannic grip.” [92/100]
