The nose can be stylish in time; for now, there is a front air of oak, quite sensitively presented, with a cosy, soaked black cherry fruit, living on its ripeness, behind. The palate rests on a run of black cherry fruit which is polished, clean, with some oak-tannin toffee notes to bring it to a conclusion. This is a tidy, quite sweet Crozes, with some reserves to amplify as it evolves. The fruit persists with a stealthy hand. [John Livingston/drinkrhone.com, October 2016]
Emmanuel Darnaud: “Je n’ai pas fait d’école du vin, je travaille au feeling. Et puis Bernard m’a appris tant de choses.”

Wine Advocate: “The exciting 2015 Crozes Hermitage Les Trois Chênes tastes like a mini-Hermitage. Crushed stone, dark, plummy fruit, hints of licorice, cracked pepper and meat all swirl through this full-bodied, richly concentrated Syrah. It’s got enough suppleness to be approachable now, but it should easily make it through 2025, perhaps longer.” [december 2017]
