Tasting notes

Smoky, prolonged black fruit air with a drift of herbs underneath, gives a sense of warm slopes and soil. Dark fruit with carry and rolling insistence lines the palate. There are grainy later moments, with cut, and it lengthens discreetly, never a false step. Fine wine. [by John Livingston, DrinkRhone.com, February 2012]

Quote & Reviews

John Livingston (drinkrhone.com): “Smoky, prolonged black fruit air with a drift of herbs underneath, gives a sense of warm slopes and soil. Dark fruit with carry and rolling insistence lines the palate. There are grainy later moments, with cut, and it lengthens discreetly, never a false step. Fine wine. [februari 2012]

Wine Advocate / Robert Parker: “The black/purple-colored 2010 Cornas exhibits notes of licorice, steak tartare, spring flowers, blackberries, cassis and powdered rock. Full-bodied, moderately tannic, and in need of 2-3 years of bottle age, it should last for 15+ years.” [december 2012]

Cellar Tracker: “In the bouquet a lot of licorice, dark berries, laurel, tobacco and coffee. On the palate a sweet start with concentrated red berries, chocolate, laurel and also beautiful acidity and round tannin. Beautiful wine with a future of several years.” 92/100
