The bouquet is deep set, has a layered mix of dark fruits with a mineral crispness, airs of black olives – it is smoky, thorough. The palate has a good, tight connection to the bouquet: it gives direct black fruit, good cut – true Syrah of the northern Rhône. Good balance, good freshness, sure length. It goes down very well, is very digestible. It is absorbing its oak well, and there are smoky touches at the end. Will be more expressive from 2016. It is tight-knit, down the line now, the exit is grainy and fine, mineral. Classic and good. [John Livingston/drinkrhone.com, November 2013]

Robert Parker/Wine Advocate):”The prodigious 2010 Hermitage reveals classic flowery notes (violets) intermixed with creme de cassis, pen ink, scorched earth and a touch of subtle wood spice in the background. This full-bodied, tannic, muscular blockbuster Hermitage should prove to be a classic, and age effortlessly for 25 or more years. Only patient connoisseurs are advised to take a look at this wine which demands 4-5 years of cellaring.” [december 2012]
