Elder with a cassis liqueur note leads the nose, comes with black pepper, savoury, beef stock notes. The palate has a square, firm shape, is chunky, solid, holds a strong, firm frame. There are touches of black olives, pepperiness, and good juice within. It has cut, ends in savoury fashion, rather well fuelled. It needs three years to soften. Racy fruit within is waiting to emerge, with serenity as it ages and amplifies. Very good structure here. [John Livingston/drinkrhone.com, February 2019]

Joe Czerwinski/Wine Advocate: “The 2014 Cotes du Rhone Brezeme Domaine de Pergaud Vieille Serine is a bit lean and wiry but intense. Scents of crushed stone lead the way, followed by juicy blackberry flavors and a long, mouthwatering finish. Texier holds this in the cellars for three years or more to ensure stability prior to bottling, as no sulfur is used. [December 2017]
