Home / Assortment / Northern Rhone / Côte-Rôtie / Domaine Christophe Billon Les Élotins Côte-Rôtie 2011
An elegant Côte-Rôtie, dominated by small red fruit. The nose shows floral tones (violin), raspberry and currant, pepper. The start is lively, offering slender and juicy fruit (black/berries), light smoky tones (tea, tobacco) and licorice. It develops mildly spicy (pepper, mint), shows vital acids, smooth and digestible tannin. The finish of this medium-bodied wine is relatively light-footed. Les Elotins allows for drinking at relatively young age so that spontaneous fruit manifests itself best. [August 2014]
John Livingston: “Nothing flash here – also good, an honest Côte-Rôtie without frills.”
